Clothes Make the Person!

The old slogan came from a producer of men's clothing, and today it is politically incorrect. To an increasing degree, we see the value of dressing down as well as dressing up. And one Japanese assembly plant, everyone on the production floor wears a white shop coat. Management members always wear a similar shop coat when they visit the plant.

In an earlier age, the clothes you wore to work were an indicator of rank and prestige. In today's egalitarian warehouse, managers have learned that informal dress enhances teamwork and communications.
