Advantages of Apprenticeships

Ben Franklin started his career as an apprentice printer, but today the US has relatively few apprenticeships compared to other nations.

Some blame this on the decline in manufacturing, and others say the cause is a greater emphasis on four-year college degrees.

There is growing recognition that college is expensive and sometimes overrated. Furthermore, not every person thrives in an academic environment. As a result, apprenticeships are coming back.

In some cases, noncompeting firms in similar industries have collaborated to develop apprentice programs. Apprenticeships can be an effective way to target specific groups such as military veterans.

Have you considered an apprenticeship program?
